Jomfru Ane Gade

Jomfru Ane Gade (Virgin Anne's Street in English) is surely the most famous street in Aalborg and even the most famous street in throughout Denmark!  Also called “Gaden” (The street) is famous for being the street with most clubs, cafes and restaurants in the Nordic countries.

During the day you will find delicious restaurants with moderate prices.

The story began in at the end of the XVIth century. At first, it was a native seller street. According to believes, the name emanate from a nun: Ane Viffert who lived on Skavegade a near street.

This heritage allow to visit period houses in wood. Late after the first restaurant, the Gaslight was opened on May 1967. Now there are a lot of restaurants, bar and night club along the 150 meters of the street.

This street is desert on sunday morning (look photos below).

But on Friday or Saturday evening from 9:00 pm there is a lot of incoming people.

Prices of restaurants, cafe and bars are inexpensive due to competition between them. This competition has been raging for a long time ago.

For the Valentine's Day, we went with Angers students  to Studenterhuset a bar managed by students  which explains the low prices.

After, we went to Jomfru Ane Gade in Zwei Grosse Bierbar that allows us to meet other students and have a good time.

See you soon,

Nathan
